Thursday, 9th June 2011

Today, we caught the bus at 8 o'clock because we went to Kraków, that is 2 or 3 hours from Juszczyna. The travel has been very good, talking with friends, speaking in English, laughing and some of us sleeping.
When we arrived a women introduced herself and started talking about Kraków and showed us important things. First, we walked near the beautiful river called Wisła, the large river in Poland, then she talked about the history of the Polish dragon, and we saw a big statue representing that dragon. We took photos and then went to the castle, we saw the walls and then we entered, she talked about the history of that castle, the Wawel Castle, one of the things that the nazis didn't destroy in the second world war, she explained us that the design of the castle is Italian, we also saw the bones of animals like mamuts, whales...Then we went to a very important church with very beautiful pictures and pictures of Jan Paweł II, the Pope. We also saw a very big bell called "Dzwon Zygmunta'', the tradicion says that if you touch that bell with the left hand your wishes will become true. Next, we went to see an important university because it is the oldest one in Poland.
We had lunch in a restaurant, we ate tomatoe soup, and meat with potatoes. Some people went to Macdonals and then we had time to go shopping.
That is all of our day in Kraków.

Queralt.
